BeGreen at Ceres Conference

Tuesday, April 14th, 2009   |   Headlines.

Today I’m in San Francisco, attending the Ceres Conference on behalf of BeGreen with our business development manager, Neal. Ceres is the largest coalition of investors, environmental and public interest organizations in North America. Green Mountain Energy, our parent company, was one of the earliest Ceres members and a strong supporter of the sustainability principles advanced by the organization.

Part of our obligation as Ceres members is to produce a corporate sustainability report that describes our company’s environmental mission and progress in the past year. In fact, writing this report was one of my earliest projects at Green Mountain, and it enabled me to become quite familiar with the ’spirit’ of belonging to Ceres.

So that’s mostly why I’m excited to attend the conference this year and hear other corporate leaders talk about their efforts in fighting climate change. Companies like Google, Nike, and many more will be in attendance, presenting a unique opportunity to hobnob with other thought leaders in this area. For a full list of Ceres companies, click here.

Also, if you’re interested in learning more about the Ceres Sustainability Principles, visit the Ceres website by clicking here.
